Khewra slat mines are situated in Khewra District Jhelam. Location is about 160 KM from capital Islamabad, Pakistan. Salt generation per day is about 15000 metric tons per day. About 700 people work in salt mines to cut out the salt daily. Khewra salt mines are largest in Asia and second largest world wide. Khewra, Jhlem is situated at 160 KM away from Islamabad. It is connected with the rest of country with a broader networks of road which all connect to Islamabad to Lahore Motorway (M2), Islamabad to Lahore GT Road and Islamabad to Chakwal Road (Also called Rawalpindi Road). It  houses the coal mines as well as the Salt mine which is Biggest rock salt mine in Asia and second biggest in the world. Are you planning a round trip to Khewra from anywhere in Pakistan? Well this map will help you reach the correct place. So don’t forget to take a print with you. From Islamabad or Lahore you can use three ways. – First the motorway M2 then exit from motorway at Kalar Kahar interchange and follow the Map to the Khewra Salt Mines. – Second get on Islamabad to Lahore GT road, exit the GT road from Mandara, go to Chakwal and follow the Map to Khewra.
