Petrol and Diesel Prices remain same for first fortnight of April 2023

Government of Pakistan reviews the petrol and high speed diesel prices in every 15 days. So on the every 1st and 16th of the month the new petrol and diesel prices are set. These new prices are in accordance with and to compensate with international crude oil prices. However, many other factors like govt taxes play a role in finalized prices. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) have raised concern about the cheap fuel scheme, which government was planning to go ahead with. According to IMF representative in Pakistan, the government of Pakistan have not done any consultation about the scheme with IMF. Also IMF have rejected the initial proposal of scheme by Govt of Pakistan. PTI to challenge ECP in Supreme Court for Punjab Elections delay

Recently,, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have announced delay in Punjab elections. The election were originally scheduled to take place on 30th April, 2023. However, ECP suddenly decided to move elections to October 8, 2023. According to the Pakistan’s Constitution, ECP must in any case, ensure the elections within ninety days of an assembly dissolution. However, after giving the date of April 30, 2023 itself, the ECP took a U-turn and now given a new date for elections of Punjab province.
