Contempt of Court notices to former PCO Judges

A Supreme court bench served the Contempt of Court notices to the former Judges who had taken oath under the PCO. This was done on the Friday Oct 09 morning. The bench was being headed by the Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Choudhary himself. The contempt of Court notices were serve to former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar(Retd), Justice Muhammad Nawaz Abbasi, Justice M. Javaid, Justice Faqeer Khokhar, Justice Musa Laghari, Justice Ejaz Yousuf, Justice Zawar Hussian Jaffri and Justice Saeed Ashad. Afterwords, the court was adjourned and the next hearing will be on Monday, Oct 12,09

US feels threat from Pakistan tribal region more than Afghanistan

US asked Pakistan Army for better co-operation in cleaning the so called safe heavens for Al-Quaida in the tribal region in Pakistan. A meeting of war council was held in the white house, focus was the Pakistan. It was revealed by the officials after the meeting that the war council will have its new role in Pakistan. ICC Champions Trophy 2009 Final New Zealand vs Australia

The final match of Cricket ICC Champions Trophy 2009 is being played tomorrow, Monday, 5 Oct, 2009 between the New Zealand and Australia. Saturday 3rd Oct, 09 New Zealand played the second semi-final of the championship and won it by 5 wickets making its way to the finals. On other hand back on Friday Australia won the first semi-final of champions trophy against England and got through to the final. Now as the finals are between New Zealand and Australia tomorrow Australia is favorite to win this match but well in game of cricket you never know, expecting a good fight between both teams, a good final match.

ICC Champions trophy New Zealand wins semi-final against Pakistan

On Saturday the second semifinal of ICC Champions trophy was held between Pakistan and New Zealand and New Zealand won this by five wickets and got through to the finals. This was in fact the upset of the tournament because Pakistan team was favorite to win the second semi-final in opinion of many. But good batting from New Zealand got them through. Pakistan was able to score 233 runs over the 50 overs. Pakistan batting side lost much because of losing the first four wickets too early.
