Pakistan Super League (PSL) is underway right now. In year 2023 the 8th Season of PSL is being played, officially named as HBL PSL 8. Matches are scheduled to be played at Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Rawalpindi. Today two matches had to be played. First match is already over, it has been played between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans.
Multan Sultans won the toss and elected to field first. While batting first Karachi Kings scored 167 runs in their 20 overs. Tayyab Tahir scored 65, Matthew Wade 46, James Vince scored 27, Imad Wasim was not out at 14 and Shoaib Malik not out at 10.
From Multan Sultans bowling attack, Ihsanullah took two wickets while Anwar Ali took one. There were not more wickets for Multan Sultans.
When Multan Sultans started batting, they had to chase 168 runs target in given 20 overs. However, their whole team collapsed. All got out on just 101 runs in just 16.1 overs. The team captain and the opener Muhammad Rizwan scored 29, Shan Masood scored 25, everyone else got out at or below 12 runs.
If we talk of Karachi Kings bowling, Shoaib Malik and Tabraiz Shamsi took 3 wickets each. While Imad Wasim and Akif Javed took two wickets each. Aamer Yamin was not able to take any wickets in his 3 overs, which he bowled, he gave 24 runs as well.
In the end the match proved to be very one sided, as Karachi Kings won it very comfortably by 66 runs. They were able send back the whole team of Multan Sultans in less than 17 overs.
